Kenya Pigneret holds a Master’s Degree in Law, which she earned with honours in 2017 from the Université Libre de Bruxelles. During the second year of her master's, she had the opportunity to attend a legal clinic on immigration law. Inspired by the experience, she decided to complete her training with a master's in international migration and refugee law, which she obtained magna cum laude from VU University Amsterdam.
Kenya Pigneret was called to the Brussels Bar in January 2020. She completed her internship with the Altea law firm, with Catherine de Bouyalski (Immigration and International Family Law team), and primarily practices international private law, international family law, nationality law and immigration law.
Before being called to the bar, she acquired experience in immigration law and human rights law thanks to several experiences in the non-profit sector. She worked as a legal adviser in nationality law with the Objectif non-profit. In 2018, she had an internship at the Chios refugee camp in Greece with the Equal Rights Beyond Borders non-profit. She also had an internship with Lawyers Without Borders Belgium.
Kenya Pigneret completed courses in immigration law provided by the ADDE (Association pour le droit des étrangers) from October to December 2019.
